A Mediterranean Garden in the North York Moors

Brief - Inspired by a trip to Mallorca, the new garden areas around the house had to be generous, welcoming and inviting to complement the house and setting. A generous turning circle paired with wide steps to the house interwoven with smaller garden areas make the unit of house and garden. Stone walls together with the choice of hard materials and plants create that mediterranean feeling so desired by the client.

A welcoming entrance area The existing tree incorporated into the design Stonewall, gravel paths and mediterranean planting Lush planting screens the turning circle and drive from the garden areas Cypress-lined pathway on the mid level Terraces, cypresses and terracotta A cosy seating area with brazier Raised beds and different levels create sheltered areas within the garden A hidden timber path meanders through the planting Timber decking and walls, the transition into the lawned garden Step detail: gravel and timber Lush and welcoming, the main entrance to the house Stonewalls and terracotta Colour theme yellow Generous drive and entrance area as part of the garden

‘The garden is wonderful. It feels like being on holiday, and you can truly never have enough seating areas.’
